As many may know, Covid-19 has had (and still does) have a significant impact on Canadian communities, most of all in senior communities where to this day, seniors face isolation and struggle daily to accomplish simple tasks such as grocery shopping. Golden Age Village for the Elderly has received $25,000 in funding to provide “Hot meals” to over 300 seniors self-isolating, once a week, from April 20th to June 14th. It is thanks to The Honourable Deb Schulte, Minister of Seniors, and her support that we are able to establish such a program. To not only provide care for our Vietnamese-Canadian seniors but show solidarity in our mission to provide support and appreciation to ALL seniors. You can learn more details about the New Horizons for Seniors program here.
We are still looking to acquire more funding to continue with our “Hot Meals” program.
