Due to an increasing volume of scholarship applications, preference may be given to those who have not previously received a GAVE Scholarship. Applicants are welcomed to make submission for multiple awards.

New this year is the Visionary Essay Award (1 x $2,000 CAD) for a 1000-word insightful and thought-provoking
response to the following prompt. This award is not dependent on academic performance.

“The Vietnamese community in Canada is young, built on the shoulders and sacrifices of our elders over the last
forty to fifty years. What does the Vietnamese community mean to you? What should our community vision be for
the next 50 years? How should we engage members of our youth generation like yourself to contribute to building
our Vietnamese-Canadian identity, to foster intergenerational understanding, and to preserve our rich culture?
What role will YOU play in the future of the Vietnamese-Canadian community?”
